Common Conditions and What to Expect

We treat a wide range of injuries, including deep lacerations from sharp objects, puncture wounds, skin tears, and significant abrasions. Upon arrival, a healthcare provider will assess the wound, check for underlying damage to nerves or tendons, and update your tetanus immunization if necessary. You can expect a sterile environment where your wound will be thoroughly cleaned and dressed; if stitches are required, the procedure will be performed quickly and comfortably using local numbing agents. Following the repair, we will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions regarding dressing changes, activity restrictions, and signs of infection to watch for.

Patient Preparation Notes

• Apply firm, steady pressure to the wound with a clean cloth or bandage to control any active bleeding before arrival.
• If possible, note when the injury occurred and what caused it, as this helps our providers assess the risk of contamination.
• Keep the wound covered with a clean bandage or cloth while in transit to the clinic.
• If you have a known allergy to lidocaine or other local anesthetics, please inform our registration staff immediately upon check-in.
