These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the acuteMed website (the "Site") and the services offered through it. By browsing the Site, requesting an appointment, submitting an enquiry or online form, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Site or submit information to us.

acuteMed provides urgent, non-life-threatening medical care. We are not an emergency centre. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services or go to the nearest emergency centre — acuteMed is not a substitute for emergency care.

The information on this Site is general in nature and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this Site.

Appointment requests submitted through the Site are requests only. An appointment is not confirmed until our team has verified availability and confirmed the date, time and branch with you. We reserve the right to decline, reschedule or cancel an appointment where clinically or operationally necessary.

Walk-in availability and published waiting times are estimates only and may change without notice. Waiting times depend on the number and urgency of patients ahead of you and are not guaranteed.

Payment for consultations and services is required at the time of your visit unless otherwise agreed in writing. Fees are charged in accordance with our published fee schedule and may be updated from time to time. Where a medical scheme is used, you remain responsible for any shortfall, co-payment or non-covered amount.

Additional procedures, investigations or treatments may incur separate charges, which will be discussed with you before they are carried out where reasonably possible.

When using the Site and our services, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current and complete information about yourself and your health.
• Inform us of any changes to your contact or medical scheme details.
• Use the Site and any online forms lawfully and not misuse or disrupt our services.
• Attend confirmed appointments on time, or give us reasonable notice to cancel or reschedule.

You may not use the Site to:

• Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another person's information.
• Transmit viruses, malware or any harmful code.
• Scrape, copy or republish site content without our written permission.

We may restrict or block access where we believe use breaches these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, the law or our operational requirements. The "last updated" date below indicates when the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, acuteMed will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-excludable rights you may have as a patient under applicable healthcare and consumer legislation.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, except where a specific dispute resolution process applies under consumer or healthcare legislation.
